Hi there!

My name is Lara Reed (24), and I am an indie author and bookworm.

I first encountered the rich lore of Greek mythology when devouring the entire Percy Jackson series in one week. However, my obsession for the genre solidified when I stumbled upon Gabriele Beyerlein’s Das Feuer von Kreta (unfortunately, only available in German) at a local book fair. Since then, Greek mythology has become one of my hyper-fixations, culminating in serving as inspiration for my debut novel CROWN OF SERPENTS.

CROWN OF SERPENTS is a deeply personal project: The story encompasses my burning rage at the men who hurt me, as well as the love I feel for my Perseus, who accompanied me on my healing journey with never-ending patience. To everyone identifying with Medusa’s story: I hope that this novel can provide you with an outlet for your anger and pain (like it was for me)!

Outside of my writing, I graduated with a political science degree, specialising in feminist and postmodern theory, and have recently started my career as a sustainability consultant. I’m also a content creator, sharing my love for intricate world-building, Greek mythology, and slow-burn romance under the handle @larita.reads.
